Pride of Britain 2011

Pride of Britain Awards 2011

Monday 3rd October saw Becca00, cob54 and funnythatxx plus their guests join us from Mirror Bingo HQ and two of our amazing chat hosts, CH-Mystique and CH-Sis at the Pride of Britain Awards 2011 hosted by Carol Vorderman at London’s exclusive Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane.

Star Struck!

Heading up the red-carpet we saw Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, rubbed shoulders with Joe McElderry and wandered past the girls from The Saturdays all the while with flashes from the papparazzi camera’s and people shouting for autographs as we walked up the carpet. And this was before we even got into the building for our champagne reception followed by a delicious three course meal and then the ceremony itself!!!

It was a truly memorable evening as we mingled with loads of celebs like Olly Murs, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Stacey Solomon, Tulisa from N-Dubz and X Factor fame and Brendan Cole and the Strictly Come Dancing team to name but a few. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many famous names. But the true stars of the show were the ordinary people who were there to pick up their Pride of Britain awards with their stories of bravery and courage; I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house!

On behalf of our winners, chat hosts and ourselves in Mirror Bingo HQ, I’d like to say a special thank you to The Daily Mirror for making the whole thing possible and to the Pride of Britain team for putting together such an amazing show.
Remember to tune in to ITV1 on Wednesday 5th October at 8pm to watch the Mirror Pride of Britain Awards 2011.

"A truly spectacular evening where we walked the red carpet, brushed shoulders with the stars and even posed for the cameras with Olly Murs!!!!...Ok it was just my camera but it was magical nonetheless and amidst all the glamour and glitz we had the honour of meeting some of Britains true heros - ordinary people with extraordinary courage. The children brought tears to my eyes, whilst high flying daredevil, 91 year old Tom Lackey and Supergran Ann Timson made me chuckle with their inspiring bravery......A huge Thank you to the Daily Mirror and to all the people who made it possible for us to attend such a phenomenal event."
